Name:Ms Li

Nationality:China

Age: 56 years old

Disease: Knee Pain

Ms. Li is from Shanxi, China. She has been suffering from knee arthritis for more than four years. Ms. Li reported that in the winter of 2011, she began to experience weakness and pain in both knees, and her knees could not tolerate cold. She was unable to bend her knees naturally. When going up the stairs or getting on the bus, she needed the assistance of others. If she sat for a slightly longer time, she would feel a stabbing pain in her knees.

Medical History

She once received acupuncture treatment at a local hospital. The pain was alleviated to some extent, but the condition was always recurring. In the winter of 2012, the symptoms worsened again, resulting in limited mobility of the knee joints and inability to walk. Therefore, her family sought treatment at other hospitals. In March 2015, she came to our hospital for stem cell treatment.

Examination and Diagnosis

There was obvious tenderness (++) at the internal and external knee eyes and the fat pads of both knees. The left knee could be flexed to 80° and externally rotated by 10°, while the right knee could be flexed to 100° and externally rotated by 15°. Squatting was significantly restricted. Through a detailed examination and analysis, the specialist diagnosed her with bilateral knee osteoarthritis.

Rehabilitation Status One month after the treatment, during the follow-up visit, the patient reported that the weakness and pain in both knees had disappeared.
